I love working with recycled clothing…I get to honor the first design(er) and the fabric or the original - but making it new and fresh is so much fun!
If it’s vintage, but not awesome enough to sell as is, it gets spiced up with raw bits and tumbled trim and soft wisps.
If it’s recycled modern clothing, I do everything from adding a bit of trim at the hem or neckline to cutting it to bits and restructuring it….I love to do this to dowdy things.
If it’s recycled housewares or vintage textiles, I like to save the vintage bits to give it a prominent place in the design, from embroidered areas to handmade trims.
